 Atlantic Canada's 1st Special Needs Hockey Club!

Nova Scotia Special Needs Hockey Club, a.k.a. the Nova Scotia Highlanders, is a registered non-profit society that is a partner of Hockey Nova Scotia and a member of Special Hockey International and the new Canadian National Special Hockey. Started in September 2016, it provides an opportunity for male & female athletes with Autism, Asperger's, Down Syndrome or any other developmental disability that'd impair and/or prevent participation on a mainstream hockey team. Our program is open to eligible athletes who are age 5 and up including adults, of ALL skill levels & backgrounds to play hockey in an inclusive, fun-first environment.

Our club is located in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Covid 19 Update – March 5, 2021

As a result of Dr. Strang’s announcement Thursday March 4, 2021 the following affects us directly:

1) Maximum 60 people without physical distancing at ice level

2) Spectators /parents/etc. allowed in the rink during our sessions. Social distancing and masks are required.
